Stretch in the Sun: Top Picks for Outdoor Yoga in YGK and PEC

I love yoga for so many reasons! It’s inclusive, calming, requires very little equipment – just a mat! – and begins and ends lying down (bonus).

When summer rolls around I want to spend every waking moment soaking in the beautiful sunshine! So what’s better than combining a yoga practice with fresh summer air and the sound of birds chirping?

There are a number of options to choose from between Kingston and Prince Edward County to get your downward dog on al fresco. Learn where you can catch your stretch in the sun in the list below!

Memorial Market – Cost: Free -Bring Your Own Mat –  Location: Memorial Market: 303 York Street

Lululemon’s Sunday Class – Cost: Free -Bring Your Own Mat – Location: Battery Park 

Lululemon Kingston offers a free waterfront yoga class in Battery Park located at the foot of Earl Street. Each week a different instructor leads a class through a low-level practice. Garden Yoga and Vegan Treats at Hochelaga Inn – Cost: $20 – Bring Your Own Mat – Location: 24 Sydenham Street

Yogis of all levels are welcome to a class lead by a Moksha instructor followed by Yoga session will be followed by a short exercise on Positive Psychology facilitated by Whitney Babcock. Whitney provides counseling and coaching services. You can also enjoy vegan treats and refreshments by Top Tier Bakery. Classes hold 10 participants max and are on Wednesday’s at 6pm. Three Dog Winery Yoga – Cost: $15  – Bring Your Own Mat – Location: Three Dog Winery (1920 Fish Lake Rd, Picton) 

Can you say perfect Sunday? Have a practice in the vines on Three Dog Winery’s stunning property and when you’re blissed out post savasana, enjoy a sampling of wine and perhaps a wood oven pizza. Life is all about balance, am I right? Classes are Saturday 10:00 am – 11:00 pm and  Sunday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Flow Yoga at Drake Devonshire Inn – Cost: $15 – Mats available for $2 – Location: Drake Devonshire Inn (24 Wharf St, Wellington)

Detox and Retox – Cost: $15 – Mats Available – The June Motel (12351 Loyalist Pkwy, Picton)

Have you heard of The June Motel? Every Saturday morning this trendy new spot in the County offers an hour long yoga class on their front yard  and you can quench your thirst with a nice cool mimosa afterwards. Does it get any better than that? Learn more.
