Father’s Day is just around the corner (June 18!) and whether you’re celebrating your Dad, you are a Dad or know a Dad – it’s time for all the patriarchs to get the credit they deserve and treat them to something they’ll enjoy. Ditch the tie and take them out to explore! There’s no better place than Kingston to do that. I’ve compiled a list for the Dad in your life, whether he’s a foodie, an adventurer or a handyman – there’s something here for him!
Foodie Dad
You can treat him to a meal at any one of Kingston’s finest restaurants, try anything on this list that I made for moms last month. Or, since the weather is warming up – book a tour with Kingston Food Tours! Kingston Food Tours takes guests to the best local restaurants in town to sample the best they have to offer. They’ve also launched a Beer and Bites tour for the beer drinker in your life. Check out Kingston Food Tours for more info!
Active Dad
So many places to have fun and squeeze in a bit of exercise! If he likes a bit of scenery, head over to Skywood Eco Adventure Park and go on a zip lining adventure through the forest in Gananoque! Or, bond over a climb at the Boiler Room Climbing Gym. And new to town, you can test your axe-throwing abilities and hand-eye coordination at Kingston Axe Throwing.
Puzzle-Solving Dad
Watch him rack his brain solving one of the many puzzles offered by Improbable Escapes! They’ve just launched a new puzzle, Catch Me Outside, which takes players through a journey downtown Kingston to solve puzzles and challenges. Click here to learn about more Improbable Escape games,
Handy Dad
Learn how to make a charcuterie board with woodworking master Nick Allinson at the Kingston Collective. This workshop will not only be a blast and a project to work on together but you get to take a board home with you! Learn more about the workshop.
Cinematic Dad
Treat him to an old classic movie at Kingston’s locally owned movie theatre, The Screening Room. Their movie of the month is The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964).
Yogi Dad
Enjoy a yoga class al fresco with Dad at one of the many places in Kingston and Prince Edward County. Learn more about where you can find classes.
