Bayview Farm Restaurant Feels Like Home With Five Star Service

Turn off one of Kingston’s busiest roads and onto a dirt path framed beautifully by large trees, pass a well-manicured house and you’ll see a turquoise exterior topped with the words “Bayview Farm Restaurant.” At first, it feels as if you’re visiting a friend’s country home – expecting a golden retriever named Duke to race towards you. Let’s all Go to the Drake Devonshire


The Drake Devonshire: quaint yet modern, beautifully decorated but not too much, thoughtfully laid out and incredibly charming. I can’t say enough about this lakeside restaurant and boutique hotel in Prince Edward County owned by Toronto’s ultra-cool The Drake Hotel.

It is quite the trip from Kingston — located on the west side of Picton in Wellington — but  if you appreciate good taste in decor and food – you’ll appreciate this tucked away gem. Continue reading

Hurray for Harper’s Burger Bar

After much consideration, we are ready to order.

“Yes, I’ll have the chickpea burger, on a whole wheat bun with roasted garlic and rosemary mayo, avocado, ‘seed to sausage’ bacon, havarti cheese and waffle fries, please.” – me.

“I’ll have the six ounce beef patty on a pretzel bun, with monterey jack cheese, ‘seed to sausage’ bacon, a fried farm egg, jalapenos and kansas city bbq sauce. ” – him.

Where else could we order such wildly different burgers? We’re at Harpers Burger Bar. One of my favourite burger spots downtown. After introducing it to my in-laws recently, I think it’s safe to say they love it, too! Continue reading

Some of you might have already heard that Thursday night (Aug 20) Loving Spoonful is hosting their third annual Food Fiesta at Lake Ontario Park Pavilion. What is a Food Fiesta? It’s a congregation of talented chefs serving the tastiest bites from their food trucks.
