I love instagram. It’s the perfect app to get decor, fashion and food inspo. If you follow the right people, it can open your eyes to the community around you. Kingston has lots of awesome Instagrammers so I’ve decided to share a list of my favourite local accounts and why I like them – it was hard to stick to just 11!
@GalleryViolette
The first local account that I fell in love with when I started an account for Keep up with Kingston was Gallery Violette and it’s fitting that she’s Kingston’s Director of Tourism. She curates the beautiful nooks and crannies of Kingston so wonderfully. Seeing Kingston through her lens is a treat.
@NichePhotography
Local photographer, Nikki Rennie, has the advantage of being a professional photographer so of course her photos awesome! She captures everything from personal portraits, stunning local weddings, her adorable pup, Kingston landscapes and more. This Insta feed puts a big smile on my face.
@Fete.Events.Kingston

The stunning event space in the Smith Robinson building offers more than a place to hold parties, their feed is perfect for decor and entertaining inspiration. Plus, they capture their space in the most beautifully-lit, dreamy way.
@WithLoveandWild
Another local photographer and loving mommy, Chelsey, captures the most heartwarming moments with her husband and children as well as incredibly good looking couples’ engagement/wedding photos and touching mommy and me images. Her feed is full of “Awww” moments and her taste in decor is top notch.
@JustAddStripes
Brooke of Just Add Stripes is a local fashion blogger who has a great eye for put together looks and likes to share her sartorial insights. She sometimes tries on the latest from local shop Agent 99 for stunning photo shoots with Chelsey (mentioned above). She’s also an interior designer so you’ll find lots of design inspiration as well.
@LeCameron

I love the way she captures the architecture and nature of Kingston so uniquely. Her feed is a mixture of personal and community shots. I think it’s pretty great!
@Kingston_On
This feed is great because it captures the best of the Kingston by reposting via #kingston_on. If you don’t already love Kingston, you’ll fall in love after a scroll through this account. Plus, if you have a photo you want to share with a broader audience, just use the hashtag #kingston_on for a chance to be featured! (The photo above in particular was taken by @kerenzayuen)
@BeautyLightLove
This local photographer and blogger has quite possibly the most thoughtful feed. She moves through colour-themes and shares plenty of eye-candy (think: bouquets of flowers and sweet treats) as well as her top fashion picks. I just love how fun her photos are!
@IzzyHairStylist
Local hairstylist Liz Wing features her best work and gives her followers hair envy with every freshly-tousled hair shot she posts. And she’ll soon co-own, The Loft Studio, a brand new hair salon in Kingston so following her account is the best way to stay on top of that new venture!
@ClaireBouvier
Claire is a woman of many talents and founder of, The Claire Closet, her feed is filled with lots of travel, positivity, great personal style and #girlpower. She takes her warm Kingston spirit everywhere she travels and shares it with her followers.
@QueensUniversity
Queen’s campus is filled with stunning Insta moments and they do a great job of capturing it. Follow this account for stunning shots of downtown Kingston. If you want a chance to be featured simply use #queensu!
