The secret is out! If you’re like me, you’ve been keeping an eye on the new restaurant preparing to open on the corner of Brock and Wellington, Heist! This space was previously a bank, hence the name. Owned by CaraCo Group, they’ve pulled out all of the stops to bring a new high-end dining experience to downtown Kingston. We were recently invited to enjoy a meal during their soft opening and I am excited to tell you about it! Their menu is vast to match their spacious venue. There is a ton of variety from a burger and pizzas to oysters and Australian lamb and steak and frites. I started with a delicious cocktail, The Frozen Account, with jose cuervo silver, grapefruit syrup, fresh lime juice, janitos. We split the lobster dumplings (a highlight!), the beef carpaccio and a half dozen oysters. My husband had the crispy chicken thigh and I enjoyed the steak and frites with chimichurri sauce. We finished with a chocolate torte as well as blood orange gelato! Thank you to the team at Heist for introducing us to this new dining destination downtown. We’ll be back for the scallops and risotto. 😉 Keep your eyes peeled for their official opening early next month. Congratulations, @heistrestaurant!
