If you were born and raised in Kingston, Prince Edward County may spark memories of beach days at Sandbanks. Now, Prince Edward County is the hub of incredible farm-to-table food, top-notch breweries and wineries and trendy bed and breakfasts for all to enjoy. In the summer it’s packed with people ready to be charmed by its quaint beauty. But just because the leaves have changed, that doesn’t mean we should abandon our plans to flee to PEC. Update: This location is no longer in operation. When I was initially invited to visit Bluboho I was excited to see the beautiful new space and stunning pieces of jewellery. What I didn’t anticipate was the experience I had when I stepped through their doors.
Yes, the space IS absolutely stunning. A century building on Bloomfield’s Main Street, with its intricate details beautifully preserved and light airy decor to complement. The space holds lovely one-of-kind pieces in gold, rose gold and silver accented with unique stones but it also holds a warmth that I can’t do justice through a few filtered Instagram images. The Drake Devonshire: quaint yet modern, beautifully decorated but not too much, thoughtfully laid out and incredibly charming. I can’t say enough about this lakeside restaurant and boutique hotel in Prince Edward County owned by Toronto’s ultra-cool The Drake Hotel.
It is quite the trip from Kingston — located on the west side of Picton in Wellington — but if you appreciate good taste in decor and food – you’ll appreciate this tucked away gem. Continue reading →
