Enright Cattle Company Hosts Successful Second Annual Crop Circle Dinner

If you’re familiar with Kingston’s food scene, you’ve probably seen the Enright name listed in one of the many menus around town. The Enrights pride themselves on their sustainability, ethically-raised cattle and providing the best quality beef to Kingston’s finest restaurants.

Every summer they invite the community behind the scenes to experience their product in an intimate setting at their Crop Circle dinner.

After a tour of the farm, guests are escorted through a maze of tall, beautiful crops that opens to a warm setting of quilt-covered hay seating and tables set with wild flowers collected from the grounds.

This year’s dinner was prepared by chefs, Jeff and Rayling, behind Belleville’s popular burger spot, Burger Revolution and the wines and beers featured were from Prince Edward County’s Grange Winery and Parsons Brewing Company. The mix of appetizers were enough to send me home with a full belly and a smile but the main course was mouthwatering goodness, cornbread, brisket, potato salad and coleslaw all made with locally-sourced ingredients. While we ate and mingled, we were serenaded by a local musician, Claire Hunter, and treated to a fashion show featuring clothes from Kingston’s downtown shop, Chris James and Enright’s leather bags (also sold at Chris James).

It’s all around great vibes — wonderful atmosphere, amazing food and music. At the end of the night, guests go home with the boards their food was served on (they are washed while we eat dessert) — they make great serving boards for future home-cooked meals (such a nice touch!).

A new addition to the farm this year is their Grain Bin, it features their beautiful leather bags as well as cute graphic tees and a freezer stocked with delicious take-home meals that are made with their beef. The shop is open Saturday and Sunday 11-3 if you’re in the area and want to stop in!
